Vestibular rehabilitation
Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based treatment to reduce vertigo, dizziness and imbalance when the balance system has not recovered on its own. At IME in La Ràpita, an ENT assessment is combined with physiotherapy sessions that include virtual reality headsets.

How it works at IME
- An ENT assessment to find the cause of the vertigo and decide whether rehabilitation is appropriate.
- An exercise plan tailored to each patient.
- Physiotherapy sessions with virtual reality headsets, allowing controlled and safe exposure to the stimuli that trigger symptoms.
- Progress reviews and plan adjustments.
Limits of the treatment
Not all vertigo is treated with rehabilitation: some types need other manoeuvres, medication or further tests. Virtual reality is a tool that supports the exercises, not a treatment on its own, and progress varies with the cause and the individual.
